SHIPPEN CUP COMPETITION

Shippen Cup competition provides for a point system instead of an elimination/bracket system. Every Ball Striker event (except matches with other clubs) will include a Shippen Cup match play and stroke play competition. Every Ball Striker member attending the event will participate in both the match play and the stroke play competitions with the opportunity to collect Shippen Cup points. All Shippen Cup competitions (match and stroke play) will be handicapped, giving all members an equal chance to win points. Members can not participate in the Shippen Cup competition without a valid USGA handicap.

SHIPPEN CUP SCORING GUIDELINES

Shippen Cup competition will include match play and stroke play at each event. The combination of formats will require increased focus on scorekeeping. The effort required to keep accurate and timely scoring can be minimized by allowing for a few minutes before tee off to prepare your scorecards and having a good scorekeeping system.
